|| Airport Authority of India Celebration ||

Airport- A place considered a fantasy in the lives of the underprivileged in our society….. Aeroplane- A dream ride for them….………..But Shiamak made it possible.

Shiamak's Victory Arts Foundation was invited by The Airport Authority of India (AAI) to perform at their 14th Anniversary Celebration in New Delhi. The VAF team stunned all with their stellar performance on the AAI anthem along with renowned singer and music composer Aadesh Shrivastava.

After 2 weeks of intense rehearsal in Mumbai, the 25 member VAF team flew to New Delhi on 5th September. As the plane took off, the kids held each others' hands praying in fear. Soon after they were glued to the windows seeing Mumbai from a bird's eye view. The kids were given a sneak peak of the cockpit of the flight before they alighted. They were welcomed by the Women's' Wing of AAI, Personnel of Veecon Foundation and the VAF, Delhi Team. As the team moved towards exit, passersby recognized them as the performers on India's Got Talent (they gave another spectacular performance for the show's Independence Day special episode). Shyly walking through the crowd, the team got into the bus and headed to the Hotel.

As it was their first ever trip in most ways, the kids were aghast to see swipe cards as room keys. They felt hot in their rooms as they didn't realize that their AC was tuned to 32 degrees. They felt their shower didn't work as they didn't know how to operate it. Their innocence won the hearts of the hotel staff who attended to them individually and sensitized them on operating the tools.

A rehearsal with Aadesh was held the same evening which was followed by a dinner at the Delhi Flying Club.

The technical rehearsal was conducted on the day of the show, 6th September, Sunday.

The Spectacle unfolded with a speech by the Chairman of AAI, Mr. Agarwal and member of Lok Sabha Dr. Girija Vyas.

And then came the Victory Arts Foundation in their shining whites and tri colour dupattas, with a huge aircraft as a backdrop and flag poles in tri colour. As Aadesh sang, the VAF kids put up a powerhouse performance with various formations and energetic dance movements and brought a new life to the auditorium. Such was the impact of their performance that the audience got up from their seats and clapped along with every move.

Dr. Girija Vyas, Aadesh Shrivastava and J.K. Srivastava of Veecon Foundation came on stage and felicitated the children with gifts. VAF kids Intazar and Imran lit the auspicious lamp and declared the release of the audio cd of Airport Authority of India.

Later in the evening, post the show, a visit to the India Gate was made to show the marvelous monument to the children.

The next day was spent in sight seeing Delhi where the kids visited the Lotus Temple, Qutb Minar, and a ride around Parliament House, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Gyarah Murti and Indira Gandhi Memorial

Mr. Manoj Arora, Shiamak's dear friend and secretary to Her Excellency Mrs. Ansari, treated the VAF team to a lavish lunch at a restaurant at Chanakyapuri where everyone celebrated the birthday of instructor Newman and VAF student Arun.

As the day ended, all kids ascended onto their flight to return home.

VAF has stepped into the arena of being invited to perform in cities apart from Mumbai. A step further has been taken this year.

Victory Arts Foundation would like to thank Mr. Aadesh Shrivastava, Mr. J.K. Srivastava of Veecon Foundation, all staff on board of Spicejet, all staff at Hotel Blue Stone, and above all , all the staff at Airport Authority of India for their wonderful support and hospitality.
